Urban Bliss opened on Luangwa Avenue in Kabwe in 2019 and is built around its meeting space rather than its bedrooms. Four venues totalling about 11,290 square feet seat up to 550 guests between them, which is a scale Kabwe did not previously have. The hotel stands roughly two kilometres from the town centre.
Best for
Conferences, weddings and corporate events in Central Province that would otherwise have to go to Lusaka, and business travellers who want a gym and a pool rather than simply the nearest bed. Less obviously the choice for a one-night highway stop, where the conference infrastructure goes unused.
Location
Plot 8250, Luangwa Avenue, Kabwe, Central Province, about two kilometres from the centre. One caution: an unrelated hotel of the same name trades in Dixcove, Ghana. If a search result places Urban Bliss on a coastline, it is not this one.
Rooms and style at Urban Bliss
The hotel publishes five room grades rather than a room count: a standard room of 28.6 square metres for one or two guests, a deluxe suite, an executive suite, a family suite and a presidential suite. We have not been able to establish a reliable total. Aggregators give figures of five and of forty, neither of which is credible for a property of this size, so we publish none.
Facilities at Urban Bliss
A steakhouse restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym open around the clock to guests, a spa and salon, and the four conference and banquet venues that give the hotel the second half of its name.
Trade-offs and what to know
The conference trade is the point of the hotel, which means the public areas can be busy with delegates who are not staying.
Star ratings differ between aggregators and none of them is an official Zambian grading. Treat them as opinions.
The room total is not published by the operator, and the aggregator figures contradict each other.
The setting is suburban Kabwe. This is a town hotel, not a retreat.
Getting there and getting around
Kabwe is on the T2 Great North Road about 140 km north of Lusaka, a drive of roughly two hours in ordinary traffic, and about 300 km south of Ndola. The nearest commercial airport is Kenneth Kaunda International at Lusaka. Luangwa Avenue is a short drive from the T2 through town, so a vehicle or a local taxi is the practical way to arrive and to move around.
Explore the area
Kabwe was built on the Broken Hill mine, where the fossil skull found in 1921 gave Homo rhodesiensis its name. The Mulungushi Rock of Authority north-east of town hosted the political conventions of the independence era, and Mulungushi Dam is the standard day trip out of the city. For the wider area, see our Lusaka and the Kafue Flats pages.
Before you book
Ask for the room grade by name rather than by star rating. If you are booking an event, ask which of the four venues you have and what it seats, because 550 is the total across all of them and not the capacity of one room. Confirm the gym and spa hours. And check the map pin before you pay, since the Ghanaian namesake turns up in searches.
Current rates and availability
We do not publish fixed rates for Urban Bliss Hotel and Conference Centre, because pricing and availability change with dates and demand. Use the Check Availability button on this page to see the current options offered by the independent booking provider. Zambia Travel Guide does not set prices, hold inventory or take payment.
