The Luangwa Valley is where Zambian safari began and where the walking safari was invented. South Luangwa carries the density and the reputation; North Luangwa is far more remote and lightly served. Accommodation runs from full-service lodges inside the park to riverside camps, campsites and backpacker rooms just outside the gate, and the difference in what is bundled into the rate is larger than the difference in comfort.
