Green View Lodge stands on Limulunga Road, the D557 running north out of Mongu towards Limulunga. Its elevated position gives views out over the Barotse plains. The lodge is owned by the New Apostolic Church, and as a result no alcohol is served or sold on the premises.

Best for

Budget and mid-range travellers, church and NGO groups, and visitors who want to be near Limulunga for the Kuomboka rather than in the centre of Mongu.

Location

On the Mongu to Limulunga road, not in the centre of Mongu. Limulunga is the Litunga’s dry-season capital and the destination of the Kuomboka procession, so the position is useful in flood season.

Rooms and style at Green View Lodge Mongu

Twenty-two rooms, listed as bed-and-breakfast style. Rooms have air conditioning, double beds, a television, a fridge and hot water.

Facilities at Green View Lodge Mongu

The on-site restaurant prepares meals on request rather than running fixed service. Meeting and conference rooms are available. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, parking is free, and the lodge is pet-friendly. A reliable power supply and internet are advertised.

Trade-offs and what to know

No alcohol is served or permitted, which suits some guests and not others. Independent traveller feedback is old and sparse, and listing platforms carry two separate entries for this property, one filed under Mongu and one under Limulunga, which are almost certainly the same business. There is no official website and no direct booking number we could verify.

Getting there and getting around

The D557 is the Limulunga road out of Mongu. Mongu has its own airstrip and is reached by the tarred road west from Lusaka through Kaoma. A vehicle helps, since the lodge is outside the town centre.

Explore the area

Limulunga and its royal establishment are close by, Mongu harbour and the canal down to the Barotse Floodplain are a short drive south, and the road on to Kalabo and Liuwa Plain starts in town. For the wider area see our Western Zambia and Liuwa Plain pages.

Before you book

Confirm you are booking the Limulunga Road property and not a duplicate listing. Order meals in advance, since the kitchen cooks on request, and note the alcohol policy before you arrive.
