Kasama
Kasama is the largest town in the Northern Province and the natural base for Chishimba Falls, the Bemba heartland and the wider waterfall circuit. Its accommodation is a set of small hotels and guesthouses serving government, business and TAZARA rail traffic rather than tourism, and it is functional rather than memorable.
Use it as a hub. The falls, the rock art sites and the Mbala road are all day trips from here, fuel and supplies are dependable, and it breaks the very long drive between the Copperbelt and Mpulungu into manageable pieces. Book ahead midweek, when official travel fills the better rooms.
