Makanta Close, off Church Road, Lusaka, reached via Cairo Road past Levy Park Shopping Mall near the fire station. The bus and rail stations and the main post office are each under a kilometre away, as are banks, hospitals, shopping centres and the museum.

13 private rooms plus 30 beds across three dormitories. Camping is also offered. Rooms carry DStv and hot water.

Trade-offs and what to know
A bar with a pool table in a hostel a short walk from the city nightlife. It is not a quiet property.
The former Kuomboka name still circulates, which makes comparing listings confusing.
Camping and dormitories share the site with private rooms, so specify what you want.
Getting there and getting around
Church Road runs through central Lusaka and the hostel is a short turn off it, which puts the intercity bus terminal and the railway station within walking distance. Kenneth Kaunda International Airport is roughly 25 km east; take a taxi.
Explore the area
