Country Lodge Mongu stands at Plot 3066 Independence Avenue in the centre of Mongu, the Western Province capital above the Barotse Floodplain. It is part of Country Lodge Zambia, a small Zambian group with branches in Lusaka, Mongu, Solwezi and Sioma, and it functions as one of the town’s main business and event venues.

Location
Plot 3066 Independence Avenue, one of Mongu’s main thoroughfares, within walking distance of Barotse Mall, the markets and the cathedral. The grounds are planted and green, which is unusual for central Mongu.
Rooms and style at Country Lodge Mongu
The operator states forty en-suite air-conditioned rooms, running from standard doubles up to deluxe rooms and suites. Rooms are non-smoking and fitted with mosquito nets, which matters on the edge of the floodplain. Note that the room count differs between sources, so treat the figure as the operator’s own.
Facilities at Country Lodge Mongu
An in-house food and beverage department runs the restaurant, serving breakfast and dinner, and also handles external catering. There is a bar and lounge with outdoor patio seating. Two conference rooms are available, and the venue can handle more than five hundred delegates when outside catering is used. Parking and Wi-Fi are free, the front desk is staffed around the clock, and there is a staffed security gate. Airport transfers can be arranged.
Trade-offs and what to know
This is an urban lodge with no river frontage or wildlife setting. Independent ratings are mixed on room condition and food service, and the published room count is not consistent across sources. Check-in is 12:00 and check-out 10:00.
Getting there and getting around
Mongu is reached by the tarred road west from Lusaka through Kaoma, and has its own airstrip; Kalabo Airport is the other regional field. In town, most things on Independence Avenue are walkable.
