Best Western Plus Paramount Hotel is a city hotel on Great East Road in Lusaka, about a kilometre from the centre. It traded until recently as Best Western Plus Lusaka Grand, and both names still circulate on booking sites — it is one hotel under one Best Western property code, not two.

Business travellers and conference organisers who want an international brand standard close to the Lusaka CBD, and anyone who wants a full-service hotel with several places to eat without leaving the building. Not for travellers needing a pet-friendly hotel or travelling with a service animal — neither is accepted.

Great East Road, Plot 8018A, in central Lusaka. The hotel describes itself as being in the city’s central business district, roughly a kilometre from the centre and within 20 km of Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
Rooms and style at the Paramount
Around 89 to 92 rooms across four floors, including suites. The brand does not publish a room count and the two figures come from separate listings, so treat the number as approximate. Some rooms have jetted tubs and some have kitchens or kitchenettes, which is unusual in a Zambian city hotel. Accessible rooms are available.
Facilities at the Paramount
Three named food and drink outlets — Sangalalani Restaurant, Mandarin Restaurant and the Wodka Piano Bar — plus indoor and outdoor bars. Free breakfast, free high-speed Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, a fitness centre, a full-service spa, free parking, five meeting rooms and a 24-hour business centre. An airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Trade-offs and what to know
The old name persists. Searching for Lusaka Grand will not find it on the brand’s own site, though some booking platforms still carry the legacy address.
No pets and no service animals. This is an absolute exclusion and will matter to some travellers.
Seasonal pool. The outdoor pool is described as seasonal rather than year-round.
Airport transfer is chargeable. It is not included in the rate.
Ownership is undisclosed. Each Best Western property is independently owned and operated, and the owner here is not published.
Getting there and getting around
Kenneth Kaunda International Airport is within 20 km, and the paid hotel shuttle is the simplest transfer. Great East Road is one of Lusaka’s main arteries, so the hotel is easy to reach by taxi from anywhere in the city, and the centre is close enough for a short ride.
