Kaoma
Kaoma sits on the Lusaka to Mongu road in Western Province, on the eastern approaches to the Barotse floodplain and within reach of the western edge of the Kafue system. It is the main town between Mumbwa and Mongu, and on a drive that covers several hundred kilometres of open country it is the natural place to stop.
The accommodation here is straightforward and road-facing: guest houses and small lodges used by traders, officials and travellers making the long run west. If you are heading for Liuwa Plain, Kaoma is one of the last practical resupply points before the country empties out.
Each listing below is filed here because its own coordinates place it inside the approved Kaoma catchment. Every page is our own write-up rather than an operator’s description, with a live availability link. We do not publish prices, star ratings or traveller reviews.
