Tamarind Camp is accommodation in Lake Kariba, Lower Zambezi & Lake Kariba, Zambia, bookable through our booking partner. We have confirmed that it exists, that it is currently operating and exactly where it stands, but we have not been able to confirm from a first-party source what kind of property it is, so we describe it here simply as accommodation rather than guess at a category.
Where it is, and what that means
It sits roughly 24 kilometres from the centre of Lake Kariba. The Zambian side of Lake Kariba centres on Siavonga, about two hours south of Lusaka on tar. This is a lake destination rather than a game-viewing one: fishing, boat time and sitting still, with weekend traffic from the capital filling the better places on Friday nights.
Who it suits
This is a room-by-room property rather than an inclusive camp, which means you set your own timetable and pay separately for anything you do. It suits travellers passing through Lake Kariba, or using it as a base for the surrounding area. It suits you less well if you want meals, guiding and activities bundled into one nightly rate, which is how Zambia’s safari camps are sold.
What we have checked, and what we have not
We have confirmed this property’s identity, its exact location and that it is currently operating. We have not independently verified its room count, its facilities, its rates or its standard of service, and we do not publish those unless we can source them properly. Before booking it is worth asking directly about current opening, whether breakfast and parking are included, what happens if you arrive late, and how power and water are backed up. All four are ordinary questions in Zambia and none of them implies criticism.
