Rombado Executive Lodge is a town lodge on the Lusaka Road side of Chipata, the Eastern Province capital and the staging town for South Luangwa. Its main advantage is that it is central enough to walk to food and shops, which is unusual in Chipata.

Business travellers, NGO and government staff, and self-drive visitors breaking the Great East Road journey towards Mfuwe or the Malawi border.
Location
Off Lusaka Road, Chipata. Roughly nineteen restaurants and eight points of interest lie within about 1.2 km, and the area is reasonably walkable. Chipata Airport is about 12 km from the town centre.

Rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen television with multiple channels, a work desk, a separate seating area and tea and coffee making facilities. Extra-long beds and an iron are listed among room amenities, and some rooms have a whirlpool bathtub. The lodge advertises soundproofed rooms.

Guest feedback indicates the Wi-Fi is not always working. The operator appears to run more than one Rombado-branded property in Chipata, including a Rombado Residence Lodge at Plot 51372 Messengers and a Rombado Lodge in the Motel Area, so it is easy to book the wrong one.
Getting there and getting around
Chipata sits on the Great East Road about 30 km from the Mchinji border with Malawi, and is the turn-off point for the road north to Mfuwe and South Luangwa National Park. The airport is roughly 12 km out.
