The southern end of Kafue National Park runs down to Lake Itezhi-Tezhi, a reservoir on the Kafue River, where the landscape opens out into water and long views rather than woodland. It is reachable by road from Lusaka without committing to a fly-in camp.
Who it suits
This is a room-by-room property rather than an inclusive camp, which means you set your own timetable and pay separately for anything you do. It suits travellers passing through Itezhi-Tezhi, or using it as a base for the surrounding area. It suits you less well if you want meals, guiding and activities bundled into one nightly rate, which is how Zambia’s safari camps are sold.
