Mukuba Hotel stands on the Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola’s industrial area, the site of Zambia’s international trade fair. It is wholly owned by the Industrial Development Corporation, the state investment holding company, and reopened in January 2023 after an extensive refurbishment. Impalas and peacocks live on the grounds.
Best for
Business and conference travellers to the Copperbelt who want a large, recently refurbished property with grounds rather than a roadside hotel, and anyone attending an event at the Trade Fair Grounds. Not for travellers who want a late morning — check-out is at 09:00 — and not for anyone travelling with a service animal, which is not permitted.

Rooms and style at Mukuba
Fifty-two rooms after the refurbishment: 30 standard, 16 twin, four executive suites and two presidential suites. That breakdown comes from the owner’s own reopening announcement. Two booking platforms give 55 and 56 rooms, figures that may predate the works. Rooms have air conditioning, a desk, telephone, refrigerator and bath or shower.
Facilities at Mukuba
Fine dining restaurant, three bars and lounges including a poolside bar, an outdoor swimming pool and a separate children’s pool with loungers and umbrellas, a 24-hour gym, conference and event spaces, two meeting rooms, a 24-hour front desk, free Wi-Fi throughout, free self-parking, gardens, a picnic area and a lift. Free English breakfast is served from 06:00 to 10:00.
Trade-offs and what to know
Check-out is 09:00. Unusually early, and extending costs half the room rate subject to availability.
No pets and no service animals.
The setting is industrial. Trade Fair Grounds in the industrial area, not central Ndola.
The operator’s site is thin. No rates, no room count, no policies; a Gmail address handles bookings.
Ownership speculation recurs. The corporation publicly denied selling the hotel in August 2024.
Getting there and getting around
Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport serves Ndola and is the usual arrival point for the Copperbelt. The hotel is on the Trade Fair Grounds, so a vehicle is needed for central Ndola, and parking is free on site.

Check-in runs from 10:00 to midnight, with early check-in available on request; check-out is 09:00, and a late check-out costs 50 per cent of the room rate subject to availability. Children are welcome and there is a children’s pool. Pets and service animals are not allowed. Credit cards, debit cards and cash are all accepted.
