Chinzombo is Time + Tide’s flagship South Luangwa property, on the bank of the Luangwa River opposite the national park near Mfuwe. Unlike the operator’s seasonal bush camps it runs all year.

Travellers who want a private pool and river frontage rather than a tented camp, and anyone visiting in the wet season, when most Luangwa camps are shut.

The bank of the Luangwa River opposite South Luangwa National Park, near Mfuwe, Eastern Province. The units sit beneath msikizi trees facing the water.
Rooms and style at Chinzombo
Six units built of canvas and timber: five single-bedroom units and one two-bedroom family unit. Each has a private pool and a verandah facing the river.
Facilities at Chinzombo
Private pools in every unit, an on-site wellness offering, and game viewing from camp. Chinzombo sits within the same Time + Tide group as Mchenja, Kakuli, Nsolo and Luwi, and guests commonly combine it with the seasonal camps.
Trade-offs and what to know
An older Chinzombo Safari Lodge occupied the same site before the current rebuild, so older accounts describe a different property.

It sits opposite the park rather than inside it, which shapes the daily rhythm.
Getting there and getting around
Mfuwe International Airport takes scheduled flights from Lusaka and is the way into the valley. Chinzombo is near Mfuwe, which makes it one of the easier Luangwa properties to reach. Movement is by vehicle or on foot with a guide.
